With SDCC being canceled this year, I felt it was more important than ever to stick with my plan to publish Book of Kyoot Vol 2. I have so many fond memories of this convention, one of them being from last year when I released the first book. A little girl and her family came by the booth and she immediately loved the book, coming up to ask me if I had volumes 2 and 3 too. I was stunned for a moment, and told her unfortunately no, but I would get volume 2 published as soon as I could. They purchased volume 1 and went on about their way exploring the exhibit room. The next day, the dad returned to tell me the little girl stayed up late reading the comic over and over and they were coming back later in the afternoon so she could look at more kyootness. Later that day she returned, and with absolute purpose, selected every artbook I had and a few other goodies. To say I’m grateful for that moment in time is an understatement, and she and her family are who the bears in my comic represent.
